Hi! I'm Daisy, a third year physics PhD candidate at the University of Surrey. My research is in the field of quantum technology, specifically semiconductor spintronics. My main focus is on investigating spin-orbit interaction in InSb quantum wells and associated nanostructures with an aim to produce a highly spin-polarized current. Outside the lab, I'm an enthusiastic science communicator and 'outreach person'. I'm a STEM Ambassador and write articles for Massive Science and Physics World from time to time as well as on my own blog called 'Notes from the Physics Lab' (https://www.notesfromthephysicslab.com/). But mostly, I can be found doing sci comm through instagram where I like to post captions sharing my thoughts on my research alongside pictures of me in action. I'm also really interested in inclusive pedagogy and accessibility in STEM.
